How the Barcelona Card works
The Barcelona Card is the official tourist card of the city of Barcelona, available for 3, 4 or 5 days. How it works is explained in this section:
-
Buy Barcelona Card
The Barcelona Card is available online (with a discount) or on site in Barcelona. When buying online, you select the date and the desired validity (3, 4 or 5 days) and pay in advance. -
Receive a voucher
After purchasing online, you will receive a voucher by email. You can print this out or exchange it digitally for the physical card in Barcelona. -
Pick up a card
With the voucher you can pick up the card at an official tourist information office, e.g. at Barcelona Airport (T1/T2) or in the city center (e.g. Plaça de Catalunya). -
Activate your card
The card is activated the first time it is used. The validity period (72, 96 or 120 hours) begins at this point. The first use determines the starting time. -
Enjoy free admission
The Barcelona Card gives you free entry to over 25 museums and sights. Simply show it at the entrance or at the ticket office. -
Using public transportation
During its validity period, the card also serves as a ticket for bus, metro and streetcar - including airport connections. It is not transferable and is valid per person.
